Pink Days

Objective:
Capture a landscape shot at dusk.

Challenge: Creating depth between the foreground and background. Also adding interest to a local area.
I used a slow shutter speed, a tripod, and a pink filter.  The sunset and reflection capture the gentle motion of the water and the quiet observation of viewers atop the fort.

Objective:
Capture an interesting image at dawn.

Challenge:
Ensuring the limited amount of sunlight showed but did not overpower the image.

This photograph was captured at dawn, as the rising sun illuminated the trees swaying gently in the wind. I focused on creating depth through the layers of foreground, middle ground, and background.
Recognized as Image of the Week in 2023.

Objective:
Create an expressive portrait
Challenge: Lighting the subject and eliminating harsh shadows

I lit the subject with a softbox, aiming to create a raw, unfiltered portrait. The man’s strong, stern, and unforgiving expression reflects the honest realities people face. My intention was to portray individuals authentically up close, truthful, and direct.

Objective:
Create an image with different lighting techniques.

Challenge: Capture glass without many reflections.

This photo was captured using a slow shutter speed and a tripod. An octagon softbox shapes the light. Black foam board was used to block light, contrasting light and darkness, while the hint of red introduces a touch of drama and emotional tension to the composition.
